Brick Blaster
A faithful C/raylib port of Brick Blaster, the brick breaker released for MS-DOS on the Media Pocket label in 1999 by the French demoscene group Eclipse.
The gameplay internals — constants, level format, XOR save codec, power-up tables, collision lookup table, frame pacing — are ported byte-for-byte from the original x86 assembly sources, with every non-trivial function citing its ASM line.
Features
- 80 levels across 2 worlds (Space, Arcade)
- 24 power-ups: multi-ball, iron ball, laser, magnetic paddle, ghost, teleporters, bonus and malus
- Monsters that spawn periodically and must be dodged or destroyed
- 2 players, co-op and versus (duel)
- Level editor to design your own levels
- Demo / attract mode with an AI paddle
- UI in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese
Controls
- Move paddle — arrow keys, A/D, mouse, or gamepad left stick / D-pad
- Fire ball — Space, or A / Cross on gamepad
- Pause — P or Esc, or Start on gamepad
- Back — Esc, or B / Circle on gamepad
- Two players on one keyboard — P1 arrows + Space, P2 Q/A (left) D (right) + F
- Two players on gamepads — P1 on gamepad 0, P2 on gamepad 1
Note: high scores are not kept between browser sessions in the web version. Download the desktop build if you want them saved.
